October AKA when the cold weather that I love and enjoy rolls around.
LIST OF NEWSWORTHY
GIF Your Faves
I’d been thinking of making GIFs for quite sometime now and I finally did. They were mostly test runs to get the hang of the fairly easy process and now that I have, I want to basically make dozens of gif sets of my favorites and already need help.
Covers Galore
There were so many cover reveals that I almost gave up on pinning them all up. My favorites are definitely this, this and this. Even though I’m not planning to read the book itself, this one is just so atmospheric and cool.
TV WATCH
I estimated watching 20 TV shows in a month during fall months and guess what, I ended up watching 20 shows in October. I was also supposed to start Westworld and Class, though.
- Empire – I feel very strange about the latest season as yet because as much as it seems like it’s going back to being good again, I’m just wary.
- This is Us – I wasn’t planning to watch This is Us at all but then I got influenced by all the tweets about it being emotional and amazing. Now I’ve been suckered in and Randall has become my favorite.
- Young Justice – Still in the middle of season 1 because I’m not ready to let go yet.
- Blindspot – I’m behind on this and mostly by choice. I don’t know what is with this show and my ability to watch it regularly.
- How to Get Away with Murder – I’m loving everything so far except Asher. Can we please not go there?
- The Big Bang Theory – Yeah, there were definitely a couple of funny episodes.
- The Flash – MY FAVORITE IS BACK AND I COULDN’T BE MORE EXCITED.
- Brooklyn Nine-Nine – So pure, so good.
- New Girl – Wow, Jake and Winston seem even more a pair of idiots than ever before which isn’t necessarily a good thing in Jake’s case.
- Younger – Gotta love Younger for doing something unexpected almost every episode.
- Supergirl – Can you believe they went from three love interests to zero? I’m guessing that was a CW move and I’m not too bothered by it but it’s been slightly rough and mostly great with all the other changes so far.
- Fresh Off the Boat – How I missed this show and it’s relatability.
- DC’s Legends of Tomorrow – Still half a joke of a show, it’s a good thing Mick and Sarah make it watchable.
- Jane the Virgin – I was so worried they were going to make the show depressing and they didn’t for which I’m so glad. I think I’m loving it more than ever before.
- Black Mirror – Elaine recommended the show and since it’s very easy to make me watch shows, I did and it’s awesome mindfuckery. I started season 2 the other day and I hear that the special episode is the best so I can’t wait to watch that.
- Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – I’m really liking the season so far!
- The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air – I’ve only watched the pilot yet and I can’t wait to watch more. So hilarious and important.
- Vixen – This is a short animated spin-off kind of a show and I mainly watched it because Barry Allen makes an appearance in it, ha.
- Coupling – I finished season 1! It’s not that big an accomplishment seeing as it was only 6 episodes long but I’m getting there.
MOVIE WATCH
Captain America: Civil War (5/10) – I mainly watched it because of two reasons: Sokovia Accords and Black Panther. While I liked that they decided to tackle a more serious aspect of being superheroes, I wasn’t a fan of just how damn slow the movie was! Black Panther made it worth the drag, though and I just loved Tony Stark in it a lot.

PLAYLIST
I listened to my September playlist most of October while waiting for the release of Lady Wood which I now can’t stop listening to.
Sebastian says
Oh my God, how did you manage to watch 20 shows in October, I already find it hard to keep up with 5 different shows XD
I’m still desperately waiting for Netflix to add the second season of HTGAWM so that I can watch it on my TV instead of having to watch a crappy stream but I finally managed to catch up on TBBT so that I actually have to wait for new episodes for the first time and I agree, there were definitely some funny episodes 😀
Also Maraia and I binge-watched seasons 2 and 3 of “Brooklyn 99” in October and I’m actually a bit sad that I have to wait for new episodes now. The Halloween episodes definitely nailed it again XD I really hope Diaz’ annoying fiancé is never coming back again XD
When it comes to AoS I found the first 2 episodes a bit lame but it definitely got better and I really liked the latest ones!
I’m also glad you continued “Coupling” and I hope you still want to watch the next seasons, they are definitely worth it – especially if you like watching Jeff embarrass himself ;D
I’m curious to hear your opinion about the Atlanta Burns novels, I still need to read the second one but enjoyed the first one A LOT. Since you liked the Miriam Black series I’m pretty sure that you will enjoy that one as well 😉
Sana says
Haha I honestly have no idea. Or wait, it’s because I’ve hardly been reading anything lately, LOL.
HTGAWM always end up shocking me and I love the show for that alone. The latest episode of TBBT, The Brain Bowl Incubation, was so hilarious and definitely the best one in a long time.
FUCKING PIMENTO! I hate him so much! I hope he gets killed off screen so as not to waste precious screen time on him. But yeah, waiting weekly for new episodes suck.
Yeah, I wasn’t really sure if I was into all the changes on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. when I watched the pilot, but I really like it now especially Ghost Rider. (And really, it’d have sucked if the show got worse in a season with no Ward in it, haha).
Oh yes, definitely continuing Coupling! LOL always here for Jess embarrassing himself.
I’m glad I found Atlanta Burns and The Hunt on sale on Kindle because I’ve been wanting to read the books ever since I read all three of Miriam Black books.
Maraia says
Soooo many shows! And I thought I watched a lot. XD Sebastian and I managed to continue Twin Peaks, finish Pushing Daisies, catch up on B99, watch River (BBC crime drama. Very grim, very good), and watch the first season of Happy Valley (SO good, but it’s even more painful than Broadchurch, if you can believe it! The name is misleading.
I’m glad you’re still watching Coupling! I need to finish that as well. And start This Is Us.
I’m having the hardest time paying attention while watching AoS for some reason. But I really enjoyed the one episode I actually watched without getting distracted! /o\
That book list, though. Wow. XD
Sana says
Haha I’m always here to make you feel better about the number of shows you watch.
Definitely putting River and Happy Valley on my (never-ending) watchlist. I’m really curious about Twin Peaks and will be starting it soon.
No, don’t give Ward the satisfaction of getting distracted while watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. XD

I was just about to start writing “hahaha, OMG, 20 shows? what even…” and started counting my own shows…
YOU NEED TO START WESTWORLD AND BE OBSESSED WITH ME SANA!!
Randall is seriously the most precious of This is Us! He cracked me up in the last episode. Such a great dad LOL
I always forget that New Girl is still a thing. I haven’t watched in ages.
WAIT TIL YOU GET TO SEASON 3 OF BLACK MIRROR! Definitely my favorite season.
SO MANY COMICS. How did I miss these deals??? COuld have needed the Ms. Marvel 3+ volumes. AND YOU GOT ZEBULON FINCH. (could you read it real quick and remind me what happens so I can read Vol 2 LOL)
Sana says
LOL I’m glad at least someone understands the obsession with watching a ton of TV shows.
STARTING WESTWORLD TONIGHT, YAYYY!
Haha that episode where Randall sang, right? Or tried to.
Well, everyone is still pretty much the same on New Girl so you’re not missing out on much, haha. I do wonder how long it’ll go on, though.
I finally finished Black Mirror today and I think I liked all the episodes except the third.
I was so upset that I missed the SDCC sales and then I came across all the deals during NYCC and just had to make use of it. I badly want to read Zebulon Finch! My TBR is basically like your nightstand looks right now except most of the books are on my Kindle. XD
Crini says
I mean people also constantly complain about every book being part of a series and not having enough standalones while I just keep starting new series because I hate standalones.
DID YOU LIKE WESTWORLD????????????????
YES, Randall singing was the best. Next time someone is embarrassed by the parents they should be glad that at least it’s not a Randall LOL (urg, this week’s episode broke my heart re Randell/Kevin)
Thank goodness kindles exists or we would probably stacking on our beds by now.
