Gah, the overall state of August is really telling because of the lack of photos, right?
LIST OF NEWSWORTHY
Bookish Bingo Adventures
Ellis proposed this idea for her, Morgan and I (nap club whaaat) to participate in the summer bookish bingo sometime back in June. I knew I wouldn’t be able to read a lot during the summer as a whole, but worse comes to worst, I did want to get at least one bingo. That is, as opposed to Ellis conquering all the squares and Morgan mostly skirting around the squares that would give her a bingo. Ha. Anyway, I’m glad I got 13 out of the 25 squares which is more than half though, among us, I got the least number of them.
Just watch me get all the squares for the fall bingo. (Err I hope).
Here’s the list of squares crossed from top to bottom, right to left:
- The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater
- Our Lady of the Ice by Cassandra Rose Clarke
- A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay
- P.S. I Like You by Kasie West
- Heartsick by Chelsea Cain
- Old Man’s War by John Scalzi
- Not If I See You First by Eric Lindstorm
- Binti by Nnedi Okorafor
- The Only Thing Worse Than Me is You by Lily Anderson
- Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst
- Rocks Fall, Everyone Dies by Lindsay Ribar
- The Fixer by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
- This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab
General Life Updates
I tried out this thing where I didn’t go on Twitter a whole lot in the latter half of August. It was refreshing and a completely uncharted territory for me. It also meant that I missed most of the blowups. Instead, I obsessively scoured TVLine for all things The Flash and there are so many exciting things in line to happen in season 3, took long walks and listened to a ton of music. So excited for September, the return of the TV shows, many amazing book releases (and I don’t mean Empire of Storms when I say amazing, ha) and chilly/breezy weather.
TV WATCH
Next month’s list is going to blow up and laugh in August’s list face, LOL.
- Doctor Who – Only 3 episodes into season 3 yet. Gridlock is possibly one of my favorite episodes ever.
- DC’s Legends of Tomorrow – Really should’ve finished it in August. Oh well.
- Gilmore Girls – Started season 7! I suddenly really want to finish it already. It has its bad moments (the cheating, the portrayal of strained familial relationships both of which bothered me so much) and its good moments (most of everything else). Friday Night’s Alright for Fighting is my favorite fighting sequence ever. The Gilmores really know their stuff.
- The Legend of Korra – Halfway into season 2 and really digging it especially because of how different the setting is from season 1. But I really need to pick my pace!
- The Night Manager – Only watched a couple of episodes but man, this show! I went into it with not a lot of expectations and despite the subject matter not being all that original, the execution is brilliant. Also, a new level of respect for Tom Hiddleston’s acting skills.
MOVIE WATCH
The Angry Birds Movie (6/10) – The caption says it all, really. Animated movies should just do away from the basic premise, though.

You’ve made more TV progress than I have! I only finished season one of Twin Peaks and watched half of season one of Gotham. I don’t think I watched any movies. And I didn’t even read that much to make up for it! I have no idea where August went, but I’m glad it’s over, haha. OH, I just realized that two weeks were taken up by the Olympics, lol. Did you watch any?
I’m glad to see you’re reading again. We need to read the third Insignia book! Whatever it’s called. XD

I can’t believe you’re actually enjoying The Night Manager LOL imo it was boring AF.
I’m so excited for all my shows to come back. I don’t know when I’ll watch them all but FINALLY.
Those bingo cards look fun!
