The only time I want to read genre-specific book is during summer and we all know that the season is all about contemporary reading. Last year, Renae’s Summer 2013 Reading Project inspired me to do a (93) Days of Summer reading project from June 21st till September 21st. I ended up reading 13 out of the 36 books I chose to read. Despite having read some really good contemporaries this year, I wanted to do it again because it’s so much fun (and because it’s way past time I read some of the popular titles).
MUST-READ SERIES
Yeah, I can’t believe I haven’t read these either but every book has its right time to be read, right? Now where to start…
BEST OF THE GENRE
I don’t think I need reasons for any of these except that I’ll be reading Emily Murdoch’s If You Find Me because of Judith‘s book-pushing.
RANDOM BEACH READS
Y’know how there are some books that you just want to read? Well, these four are those for me because I love road trip, music, boarding school, and a bittersweet love story books.
BEST OF 2014
And finally, what’s summer reading without reading the best 2014 has to offer?
So out of these 25, I plan to read at least 12. Have any must-reads of these must-reads? Let me know below!

I so did not notice this redesign is this has been up for a long time now, well, I can kick myself. But seriously, it looks lovely. It's just that the little search bar is pretty cramped up there. But other than that, pretty pretty pretty. ๐
Moving on. I absolutely approve of your reread of the Perkins series, but if you added that Isla cover in there meaning that you have it, then I don't approve. The Burn for Burn's cover redesign is hideous compared to the original one. The original one's muted colors made it so that there was a color scheme, but this one just looks meh. The script font isn't that good either.
Fangirl, yay! Then UK edition looks gorgeous. If I'm going to buy Fangirl, it will be through The Book Depository's UK site for that lovely green and pink design. I hate the bright pink of the jacket, but the inside is gorgeous. The original is black with green font, but this version's green with pink shiny font with Simon and Baz engraved on the front. *swoons at the pretty*
And wow, the cover for The End Or Something Like That is so pretty. And this has just turned into a cover commentary. *bows out*

Oh yes, it does look a little cramped up but I had no idea where else to put it with the whole single column look. Maybe I should increase its width? Seriously, though I'm extremely glad that you like it. =D
Re-read? LOL no. I've yet to even read the Perkins series and I don't have Lola, it's just that it releases in August which means I might buy it and read immediately.
Gah, I don't like the Burn for Burn series re-design either, it just made the covers go from intriguing to boring.
I only have the eBook of Fangirl and honestly, I don't like the pink cover edition because I don't like pink so I think I'll get the standard edition. Sigh.
Haha I love the cover, too! And no worries, contemporaries book have such awesome covers sometimes so I don't blame you. ๐

Good thing Judith is pushing everyone to read If you find me. I also read it because of her and I fell in love with the story. So powerful ๐ SAY WHAT YOU WILL. YES. I totally approve of that one. Beautiful! On the fence was cute. I'm not a fan of Anna and the French kiss.
Happy reading ๐

Have I ever told you that I am digging your redesign? If not, I absolutely adore your design and the simplicity and the colors and everything about it. (I used WAY too many "and"s in that last sentence.
The Perkins companion books are all pretty cute stories (I haven't read Lola though!). Second Chance Summer is soooo good and the ending made me cry but it's so worth it. I loved Jenny Han's To All the Boys I've Loved Before. Love and Other Foreign Words sounds good which means I should get on it sometime.
Happy reading! ๐

Hee, I hope I love it. =D
I was planning on reading Say What You Will and when you mentioned it to me on Twitter, I was sold. I've high hopes from On the Fence but have no idea if I'll like Anna and the French Kiss…

Thank you, AJ! It means so much because you're an expert on blog design and I'm just beginning to grasp the trinity of HTML/CSS/Photoshop.
From cute to sob-worthy, I think I'm all set for summer. =D
I'll let you know how I find Love and Other Foreign Words if I end up reading it before you do.

I was almost overwhelmed by all the pretty covers. :3
Anna and the French Kiss I would definitely call a must-read because EVERYONE has read it so your excuse to read it definitely falls into market research. ๐
Good luck with your challenge! I know you'll rock it. ๐ Happy reading!

Btdubs – I am shamelessly coveting your design.

To be honest, the weather/season doesn't really affect what kinds of books I read — just as long as I'm reading what I want, whenever I want, it's all good! But that could be because we don't have seasons where I live (unless you count rainy and dry), so the weather is pretty much the same all year round, haha. But eep, you've got some pretty sweet books on that list, Sana! Out of all you've mentioned here, I've only read… TWO.
Two. Miserable. Books.
I've heard SO MUCH about Stephanie Perkins' books, though, and I know plenty of people who are really pumped for Isla. I should really get to reading Anna soon… If I Stay! I just saw the movie trailer last night and it gave me the chills. Thankfully I have it waiting on my shelf, so I should be able to read it before I watch the film. So super excited to get to it — the story sounds so different from what I was expecting. And eh, I kind of prefer the old cover for Burn For Burn, but I guess this works as well. I kind of like the fonts used. ๐
Okay, if you read Something Like Normal and if you like it, can I recommend that you try Where the Stars Still Shine, also by Trish Doller?! I haven't read the former, but I did read the latter and I loved it soooo much. One of the best contemporaries of 2013. And gah, I really need to hop on the Rainbow Rowell bandwagon! I want to read all her books because all the covers are so prettyyyy. <3
The only two books I've read are Say What You Will and On the Fence and I really enjoyed both, so I think those two are must-reads, for sure! Say What You Will is just so brutally honest and the characters go through a lot of shit, but it's still a pretty happy book that may or may not have brought tears to my eyes at some parts. On the Fence is your typical fluffy romance novel, so it'd be perfect for the summer!
Sorry for the long and rambly comment. I just have a lot to say sometimes. >.< Good luck with this reading list, though!
